| What is the origin of the Loong Kong Association? The legend of the Four Families dates back nearly two thousand years to the period of the Three Kingdoms (220-280 A.D.). During this period of feudal times among emperors and warlords, three patriots (Lew Pei, Quan Yu, and Chung Fei) met in a peach garden of the latter's mansion and vowed to join their families as brothers, not on the basis of blood relationship but for the good of their people. Later, the trio joined another patriot, Chew Yuen, and finalized the fraternity of the Four Families. For over 1800 years the vows taken by the brothers have remained unbroken, and the good deeds, loyalty and compatriotism of the Four Families have become a part of Chinese historic legend. Today, the Loong Kong fraternity is worldwide, with 146 chapters in five continents representing an active membership of over 3 million people.
