

| Loong Kong Youth Group Leadership Opportunities Becoming an officer of the LKYG will allow you to develop leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, and meet many great people. The Youth Group elects eight officers: President, four chair people (representing each of the four families) a secretary, and a treasurer. Any member of the Youth Group may be nominated by another member to serve as an officer. Nominations are held in November of each year and elections are held in December. New Youth Group officers begin their term in January of the following year as they join the new officers of the Loong Kong Association in the annual initiation ceremony meeting. Lung Kong Tin Yee Association USA Scholarship Every year, Lung Kong Tin Yee Association, USA awards scholarships to students of the four families. In order to be eligible, you MUST 1. Have one of the surnames: Lew, Kwan, Jung or Chew 2. Have GPA of 3.50 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) 3. Fall under one of the following categories: a. Middle School graduate (Class of 2009) b. HIgh School graduate (Class of 2009) c. A student who has completed his/her sophomore, freshman or junior year in college. 4. Be able to produce official transcripts along with application by the specified due date. 5. Write an essay about one of the specified topics (College level only) Applications can be obtained (in July 2009) at your local LKTYA chapter or, through the Loong Kong Youth Group website. SF Loong Kong Youth Group Mentorship Program The LKYG mentorship program pairs high school and college students with mentors (college graduates and young professionals) who will be able to assist them in applying for college and answer questions regarding careers.
